The Mystery
On December 25, 2007, somewhere around 11 pm, Julie Capsom ran her car off the road and into a tree halfway between Eureka and Crescent City, California, in the middle of northern California’s most desolate stretch of major highway. A handful of witnesses saw her pacing outside her car, but by the time the police arrived, she had vanished. While dogs picked up her scent heading into the trees, it abruptly stopped in the middle of a forest clearing.
What happened to Julie that Christmas night? How could someone that well-known vanish, in the United States in the 2000s? And why has this case haunted us ever since?
